Drive with Sûr

Sûr seeks serious, professional rideshare drivers who will be a part of us for a very long time. But if you're already driving for Uber or Lyft, that's you!

• You will need to pay up front the fee for your background and MVR check. To keep its own fees low Sûr cannot afford to front these.
• However, these fees will be refunded after you complete your first 100 rides with Sûr!
• Our requrements are listed below - you already meet them if you are driving for Uber or Lyft!
  • No more than three minor traffic violations (speeding, failure to yield, etc.) within the past three years.
  • No major traffic violation (OWI/OVI, reckless driving, fleeing and eluding, leaving the scene of an accident, etc.) within the past seven years.
  • No major traffic felony (homicide by vehicle, vehicular assault, reckless driving causing death, etc.)
  • No conviction for violent felonies (homicide, armed robbery, etc.) or sex offenses/sexual assault.
  • No conviction for non-violent felonies or serious misdemeanors (assault, battery, weapons) within the past seven years.
  • No pending charges for any of the above.
  • If 25 or over, valid license with 1 year of driving experience; if under 25, valid license with 3 years of driving experience.
  • 4-door vehicle that seats 5, 15 years old or newer, annual safety inspection, no altered title.
  • Active personal auto insurance policy with rideshare endorsement.

Sûr operates just like other rideshare apps.

• Download the Sûr Driver app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
• Open the app and grant the requested Location and Overlay permissions. These allow Sûr to know your location and find the best rider for you.

Sûr uses Web3 technology to eliminate banking middlemen, but you don't need to be a crypto expert to use it.

• Verify: Enter your email. You will receive a secure One-Time Password (OTP) to log in.
• Invisible Web3: Behind the scenes, Sûr automatically generates a secure Solana wallet tied directly to your device.
• Sign the Pact: You will cryptographically sign the 501(c)(7) Mutual Aid Cooperative Agreement, officially becoming a club member.
• Start Earning: After clearing our background checks, you are ready to begin earning. You are paid immediately in USDC (a digital token pegged exactly to the US Dollar) after completing a ride. Solana blockchain transactions typically clear in seconds.
• Offramping: You can exchange USDC back for USD at any time. You can do this right inside the app using CoinBase, which offers zero-fee exchanges between USD and USDC. We strongly recommend you set up a CoinBase account.

Sûr gives you all the options.

• Choose the maximum drive time to a rider you are willing to make (under Options).
• Unlike Uber/Lyft, Sûr allows you to choose between multiple offers according to a criterion you choose (under Options).
• Compare what Uber/Lyft would offer the rider at the touch of a button.
• Sûr will prioritize offers to you based on your chosen criterion (e.g. maximum $/hour). No more declining rides hoping you get a better offer!
• Once you tap the green "Accept" button., you are guaranteed payment even if the rider cancels.
• Our intelligent mapping software charts out for you the fastest ride.

Sûr gives you all the information.

• After completing a ride, you receive all of the fare minus Sur's $1.20 fee, and other applicable taxes, fees, and insurance.
• No more 50% "take rates" like Uber and Lyft!
• You will receive an email with complete transparency of where every cent of the fare went.

Sûr has a zero-tolerance policy for bad rider behavior.

• Sûr is only for individuals who value their membership and will act accordingly.
• Upon documentation of unacceptable behavior (harassment, vehicle damage, etc.) the violator's membership will be revoked immediately.
• Unlike Uber/Lyft, we do not keep these people around in the hope of increasing revenue. The Sûr experience is most valuable to us!
